Reference texts. This policy is governed by law no. 2024/017 of 23 December 2024 on the protection of personal data in Cameroon. When we process the data of people located in the European Union, in particular while supporting your settling in in France or Belgium, we also apply the GDPR. If the two texts differ, we apply the one that is most protective of you.
Data we collect
Through our forms (contact, simulator, guide downloads, welcome offer, client reviews):
Identity : full name.
Contact details : email address, WhatsApp number.
Project : level of study, target country, budget, funder, timeframe, visa history, message.
And automatically, for the operation and security of the site: technical data (IP address, browser type, and the anti-robot token when submitting a form).
In plain terms: simply visiting the site sends us nothing that identifies you. If you accept the audience-measurement cookies, your browsing is analysed statistically. You can refuse, and nothing is then stored. Your personal information reaches us only when you fill in a form, write to us, or send us documents as part of a support engagement.
Purposes
Review your request and offer suitable support.
Contact you back (WhatsApp, email, phone).
Send you the requested resources.
Ensure the operation, security and improvement of the site.
Legal basis
Each processing operation has its own legal basis:
Responding to your request and offering you support: pre-contractual measures and consent.
Performing the support service: performance of the contract.
Preparing and sending your files to institutions and official bodies: performance of the contract and consent.
Contacting you again (WhatsApp, email, phone): consent or legitimate interest.
Sending you the requested resources: consent.
Sending you the welcome offer code and, if you requested it, news about procedures: consent.
Securing the site and preventing fraud and spam: legitimate interest.
Complying with our legal and accounting obligations (invoicing): legal obligation.
Recipients & processors
Your data is accessible to the MBM Travel Gate team and our technical providers:
Airtable : database / CRM.
Brevo : confirmation emails and newsletter.
WhatsApp (Meta): making contact.
Vercel : site hosting.
Cloudflare : anti-robot protection of forms.
Calendly : booking an appointment.
Google Maps : maps on the Contact page, only if you ask for them to be displayed.
Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, Google Ads and TikTok Pixel : audience measurement, campaign measurement and ad retargeting, only if you consent to it.
For clients, the data is also transmitted, only to the extent necessary, to the target institutions, the official application platforms, the consular authorities and the visa centers.
These services may host data outside Cameroon (European Union, United States). For clients, performing the service also involves transmitting data to the destination country. This transmission takes place only with your express consent, given before the support contract is signed. MBM Travel Gate undertakes to complete the formalities required by law with the Personal Data Protection Authority.
In plain terms: we never sell or rent your data. It is only shared with the tools necessary to process your request.
Retention period
We keep your data for as long as necessary, and no longer:
You wrote to us but we did not work together : 3 years after our last exchange.
We supported you : for the entire duration of the support, then 5 years from the end of the service, so that we can answer any question or complaint.
Your financial documents and those of your guarantor (bank statements, proof of financial support, proof of funds): deleted as soon as the consulate or institution makes its final decision, without waiting for the periods above.
Invoices and accounting records : the period required by Cameroonian tax law.
Welcome offer : 30 days after the code expires or is used, then deletion; the address subscribed to news is kept until you unsubscribe.
After these periods, your data is deleted or made anonymous.
Welcome offer
When you request the welcome offer code (a 5% discount on the fees, see the terms and conditions), we process the following data:
Data : your email address, the code assigned to you, its sending and expiry dates, the page of the website from which you requested it, your choice whether or not to receive news about procedures and, if you use the code, the chosen package.
Purpose : sending you your personal code, checking that it is used only once and within its validity period, and, if you requested it, sending you news about procedures for your destination country.
Legal basis : your consent, given by ticking the box provided for this purpose. Signing up for news is optional and based on separate consent.
Retention period : 30 days after the code expires or is used, then deletion. If you requested news about procedures, your address is kept for that purpose until you unsubscribe. If you become a client, the discount appears in the quote and the contract, which are kept for the periods above.
Recipients : the MBM Travel Gate team, Airtable (database) and Brevo (email sending).
In plain terms: your email address is used to send you your code and, if you wish, our news. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to contact@mbmtravelgate.com.
